AJK to observe K.H. Khurshid's 38th death anniversary tomorrow

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 10th Mar, 2026) The 38th death anniversary of veteran Kashmiri leader and former president, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Khurshid Hasan Khurshid (K.H. Khurshid) will be observed on Wednesday (March 11), across Azad Jammu and Kashmir with solemnity and respect.

The special ceremonies will be held across the liberated territory under the auspices of the AJK government and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation League to pay tributes to the late leader for his services to the Kashmir issue.

The participants will also renew their pledge to continue the struggle for the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The main state ceremony will be held at Khurshid’s mausoleum in Muzaffarabad, where Quran Khawani and a commemorative gathering will be organized to pay homage to the late leader.

Khurshid served as the founding president of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation League, also worked as the private secretary to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The people from different walks of life are expected to visit the mausoleum to lay floral wreaths and offer prayers for the departed soul.

The authorities made arrangements to observe the anniversary with due respect and dignity, official sources told APP on Tuesday.

Similar tribute ceremonies will also be held in different districts of AJK, including in the Mirpur division.

In Mirpur, a commemorative event will be organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation League at Akbar library on Akbar Road at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow .
