MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) The Supreme Court of Azad Jammu Kashmir. while dismissing the appeal of the convicted principal accused of the Mirpur Bin Khurman Khaksar Street famous murder case, kept intact the capital punishment awarded to the subordinate court to the accused Ijaz Ahmed, son of Muhammad Younis, resident of the Khaksar Street.

According to the details, in 2010, accused Ijaz Ahmed, son of Muhammad Younis, resident of Khaksar Street, had shot and killed a 21-year-old youth, Saeed Abbas, son of Manzoor, resident of Mian Muhammad Town.

After the trial in 2015, the District Criminal Court awarded the death penalty to the accused, besides a fine of Rs. five hundred thousand.

Sharia heirs of the accused filed an appeal in the Shariat Appellate Bench.

The Division Bench, consisting of Justice Sardar Muhammad Ijaz Khan and Justice Khalid Rasheed Chaudhry, heard the case. After the hearing, the decision of the subordinate court was upheld by the two-member bench of the Shariat Appellate Court.

On this, the accused filed an appeal in the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu Kashmir. In this regard on Wednesday, the two-member bench of the appellate Supreme Court comprising Justice Raza Ali Khan and Justice Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry dismissed the appeal of the accused and upheld the decision of the death sentence and fine.

On behalf of the Sharia heirs, prominent legal expert Advocate Raja Inamullah Khan and his associates comprising Abdul Wahid Amir Advocate and Raja Mahfouz Advocate.
