Aviation say tickets from Karachi to Lahore, Islamabad, and other domestic destinations have increased by Rs2,800 to Rs5,000 per passenger

KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 10th, 2026) Following a rise in jet fuel prices in Pakistan, the airlines on Tuesday announced significant fare increases for both domestic and international flights.

The aviation sources said that the tickets from Karachi to Lahore, Islamabad, and other domestic destinations have increased by Rs2,800 to Rs5,000 per passenger.

International fares have also been affected, with price hikes ranging from Rs10,000 to Rs28,000 per ticket. Flights from Pakistan to middle Eastern and Central Asian countries have seen increases of up to Rs15,000.

The economy class fares for Pakistan to Toronto and Manchester have surged by Rs28,000, with one-way tickets now exceeding Rs250,000.

The rise in fares follows the increase in jet fuel prices in Pakistan by Rs154 per litre, bringing the total price to Rs342 per litre, according to industry sources. The airlines have stated that the fare adjustments are necessary to cover the increased operational costs.

Travelers have been advised to check with airlines for updated ticket prices before booking, as fares are expected to remain high while jet fuel prices stay elevated.
