SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) A technical seminar on “Real Time Air Pollution Monitoring” was held at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development (BBSUTSD), Khairpur. The event was organized by the Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Center (CCESC) on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC), Khairpur, Altaf Ahmed Chachar inaugurated the Air Quality Monitoring Station at the university, terming it a significant step towards monitoring air pollution and supporting policy development. He stated that the station will monitor the Air Quality Index (AQI) and a mobile app will be developed to provide updated information to citizens.
Vice Chancellor (VC), Rasool Bux Mahar highlighted that continuous monitoring of air quality will help understandenvironmental challenges and create opportunities for research and policymaking. Engineer Arif Hussain Lakho presented an overview of the project, saying the station will identify pollution sources, enable data analysis, and support predictive modeling.
The event was attended by experts, government officials, faculty members, and students, emphasizing collaborative efforts to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development.
