Aim of Digital Worker Welfare Card to directly deliver benefits to workers: Minister

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) Sindh Minister for Auqaf, Religious Affairs, Zakat and Ushr, Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi, on the occasion of Labor Day on Friday, said that the Sindh Government had introduced Digital Worker Welfare Card for workers so that they can receive benefits directly.

He said that May 1st reminded us of the sacrifices that workers made to secure their rights. We must work together to build a society where every worker has access to dignity, justice, and opportunities, he said.

He paid tribute to workers across the country and said that workers are the foundation of any economy, and progress and prosperity are only possible through their hard work.

He said that under the Sindh Employees' Social Security Institution (SESSI), medical treatment facilities were being provided to workers. The Sindh Government is committed to the welfare of workers and will continue to take effective measures in this regard, he added.
