QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2026) Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has announced that modern AI-based traffic signals will be installed in Quetta to provide a permanent solution to the city’s growing traffic problems. He said that resolving traffic issues through advanced technology is a key part of the provincial government’s reform agenda, and all available resources will be utilized to achieve this goal.

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Monday. The meeting reviewed strategies for managing increasing traffic pressure and implementing a modern traffic management system. Officials briefed the participants that AI-powered signals will help improve traffic flow, reduce unnecessary waiting times at intersections, and provide citizens with better travel facilities.

Sarfraz Bugti directed relevant institutions to ensure coordinated and sustainable measures for an effective traffic system. He emphasized that providing safe and efficient travel facilities to citizens is the government’s foremost priority. “By harnessing modern technology, we will improve traffic flow and deliver quality travel services to the people,” he said.

Chief Minister added that the AI-based traffic management system will shorten travel times, enhance road discipline, and strengthen transparency and monitoring. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to equipping Quetta with modern urban facilities, stressing that technology-driven decisions will create a safe, organized, and reliable travel environment for citizens.
