Afghan national killed in Kohat shooting incident

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) A 25-year-old Afghan national was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the OTS Road area of Jungle Khel in Kohat on Wednesday, police and local sources confirmed.

The victim, identified as Adil, son of Sher Ali, was reportedly travelling on OTS Road when unknown armed men opened fire on him. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot.

Police reached the scene shortly after the incident and shifted the body to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The area was cordoned off and a search operation was launched to trace the attackers, who managed to flee from the scene.

Police have registered a case against unidentified assailants and initiated an investigation to determine the motive behind the targeted killing. Initial reports suggest the victim was an Afghan national residing in the region.

Law enforcement officials have intensified security measures in the area as investigations continue.
