Adviser stresses need for collective efforts to strengthen economy

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Adviser to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah on Thursday stressed upon the need for collective efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s economy, saying all political parties must work together for the country’s economic stability.

Speaking to a private television channel, he said political consensus was essential to address the economic and other challenges faced by the country.

Commenting on water-related issues, Rana Sanaullah accused India of using water as a weapon, claiming there were reports that India was constructing dams which could eventually affect the flow of water into Pakistan.

He emphasized that the construction of water reservoirs in Pakistan was the need of the hour to tackle growing national challenges and ensure water security for the future.

Responding to a question about the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), he said the support of coalition partners would be necessary for the approval of the Federal budget and constitutional amendments. On the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, he said discussions had already been held with the PPP regarding the matter. Talking about tensions between the United States and Iran, Rana Sanaullah said Pakistan had played an effective role in facilitating dialogue between the two countries.
