Additional IGP, Commissioner review Muharram arrangements at Numaish Chowrangi

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi and Additional Inspector General of Police - Karachi Azad Khan on Tuesday visited Numaish Chowrangi to review security and administrative arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.

According to a Karachi Police spokesperson on Tuesday, senior officers of the police and other relevant departments were also present during the visit.

The officials inspected the route of the main Muharram procession, procession sites, and entry and exit points. During the briefing, officers of Karachi Police, the district administration and other concerned departments informed the visiting officials about the arrangements being made for the observance of Muharram.

The review also covered cleanliness of procession routes, street lighting, water supply and other public facilities to ensure smooth conduct of religious gatherings.

Representatives of relevant government departments, the administration, and organisers of religious congregations and processions also attended the meeting.

The police spokesperson said Karachi Police remained in close coordination with the district administration and other concerned institutions and would utilise all available resources to ensure the protection of life and property during Muharram-ul-Haram.
