ADCG Anil Saeed chairs price control meeting in Attock to check profiteering during Ramzan

ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Mar, 2026) Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Attock, Anil Saeed, chaired an important meeting of Price Control Magistrates to review measures being taken to keep the prices of essential commodities under control and curb profiteering during the holy month of Ramzan.

The meeting was attended by Price Control Magistrates from different tehsils, who presented their respective performance reports. On the occasion, Anil Saeed directed the officers to further strengthen the price control mechanism across the district in line with the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza, and to utilize all available resources to provide maximum relief to the public.

He said that the demand for food items increases during Ramzan, due to which some elements attempt to engage in overcharging and profiteering. However, he made it clear that the district administration would show no leniency towards such elements.

The ADCG instructed the Price Control Magistrates to conduct daily visits to bazaars, markets and Ramzan bazaars, and ensure strict implementation of officially notified price lists.

He emphasized that the availability of vegetables, fruits, flour, sugar, pulses and other essential commodities must be ensured at fixed rates.

Anil Saeed further warned that strict action, including fines, sealing of shops and legal proceedings, would be taken against those involved in overcharging, hoarding and unlawful profiteering.

The meeting also stressed the need for Price Control Magistrates to intensify their field activities and maintain an effective monitoring system to provide maximum relief to consumers. Various matters related to the facilities being offered at Ramzan bazaars, supply of essential commodities and improvement of quality standards also came under discussion.

The ADCG reiterated the district administration’s resolve to continue all possible efforts during the holy month to facilitate the public and eliminate profiteering completely.
