ADC reviews emergency preparedness

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Abbas Zulqarnain chaired a meeting of the District Emergency board and District Disaster Management Authority to review emergency preparedness and disaster management arrangements in the district.

During the meeting, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Engineer Naveed Iqbal presented the performance report of Rescue 1122 and briefed participants on fire safety arrangements in high-rise buildings across the district. He also proposed installation of ground hydrants in main markets and narrow streets to ensure immediate water supply in case of fire emergencies.

Abbas Zulqarnain directed the concerned departments to ensure completion of fire safety arrangements in high-rise buildings, commercial plazas, markets and industrial units in line with the directions of the Chief Minister Punjab.

He also instructed authorities to install ground hydrants in markets as proposed by Rescue 1122 and to complete preparations in time to effectively deal with the upcoming monsoon season and any possible flood situation.
