Action taken against two doctors for issuing fake medico-legal certificates

KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) In line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s “Corruption-Free Punjab” vision, the Health Department in Khanewal has launched strict disciplinary measures against corrupt and negligent medical staff across district hospitals. The initiative, directed by Deputy Commissioner Maliha Rashid, aims to ensure accountability and transparency in public healthcare services.

At DHQ Hospital Khanewal, two Medical Officers were found guilty during an inquiry of issuing fake medico-legal certificates. Dr. Fakhar-e-Alam and Dr. Alam Raza have been instructed to report to Lahore. According to a circular issued by CEO Health Khanewal Dr.

Asif Mehmood, the District Standing Medical board confirmed that the certificates were fabricated, prompting immediate disciplinary action against both doctors.

In another case, consultant Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Shehzad Khan was transferred to a different district for using a private letterhead in official documents.

The district administration’s spokesperson emphasized that mismanagement or violations of rules in public hospitals will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Authorities have pledged unbiased action against all responsible personnel and reiterated a zero-tolerance policy for negligence or dereliction of duty in public service.
