Action against adulterated food continues in DIKhan during Ramazan

Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) On the directives of Director General Food Safety and Halal Food Authority, Kashif Gillani, food safety teams in Dera Ismail Khan carried out inspections in various markets across the city in collaboration with the district administration in connection with Ramazan.

The inspections were aimed at ensuring the provision of safe and quality food items to the public during the holy month.

During the visits, samples of milk, ghee and other edible items were tested on the spot through a mobile food testing laboratory to check their quality and compliance with food safety standards.

Officials also seized substandard food items and imposed fines on the shopkeepers concerned in accordance with relevant laws.

Deputy Director Dera, Sajjad Ahmed, said that such operations would continue throughout Ramazan to ensure the availability of safe food for citizens and to prevent the sale of adulterated and unhygienic items in the district.
