QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Kohlu Azeem Jan Dummar on Friday held a meeting of the District Education Group (DEG).

In the meeting, a detailed review was taken of educational affairs across the district, problems being faced by schools, teacher attendance, monitoring system, basic facilities and improving education quality.

During the meeting, the concerned officers presented reports to the Deputy Commissioner regarding their field visits, overall situation of various educational institutions, lack of facilities, teaching environment and teacher absenteeism.

In the review meeting, strict action was taken against more than 100 absent teachers and instructions were issued to cut their salaries.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Azeem Jan Dummar made it clear that no compromise would be made on discipline, teacher attendance and provision of quality education in government educational institutions.

He directed the concerned officers to expedite the school visits and ensure the attendance of teachers through effective and constant monitoring. The meeting emphasized on the transparent, responsible and effective use of the cluster budget.

The Deputy Commissioner said that educational resources are the trust of the public, therefore, transparency, accountability and regular monitoring should be ensured in the use of funds so that the needs of schools are met in a timely manner and the education system becomes more stable

He further said that all available resources are being utilized by the district administration to provide basic facilities in educational institutions, improve the teaching environment and raise the quality of education.

He said that along with ensuring the attendance of teachers appointed on SBK and contract basis, strict action would be taken against habitual absentee teachers as per the law.

The meeting also reviewed the performance of Balochistan Education Foundation (BEF). The participants were informed that more than 3,500 children have been admitted to community schools established by BEF across the district, while 94 community teachers have also been provided with 8-day special training to improve their teaching skills.

The participants appreciated the role of Balochistan Education Foundation in promoting education, children’s access to schools and promoting education at the community level and termed it commendable.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the commitment that a series of reform measures would be continued to make the education sector in Kohlu district active, organized and productive so that students could get a better, safe and quality educational environment.
