Acting AJK President pays glowing tribute to K.H. Khurshid on 38th death anniversary

Acting President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, on Tuesday paid glowing tributes to the legendary Kashmiri leader and former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Khurshid Hassan Khurshid, on the occasion of his 38th death anniversary, to be observed on Wednesday (March 11). MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) Acting President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, on Tuesday paid glowing tributes to the legendary Kashmiri leader and former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Khurshid Hassan Khurshid, on the occasion of his 38th death anniversary, to be observed on Wednesday (March 11). Meanwhile, he described the late leader as a visionary statesman who steadfastly stood for public rights and democratic values throughout his political life.

Furthermore, in a message issued to mark the anniversary, the Acting President said that K.H. Khurshid was a principled politician whose foremost objective remained the freedom of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and its accession to Pakistan. In addition, he noted that the departed leader actively raised political awareness among the Kashmiri people and consistently encouraged them to raise their voice for their fundamental rights.

Moreover, Latif Akbar said that K.H. Khurshid envisioned a Kashmir where people would enjoy freedom, dignity, and democratic rights. Notably, he served as the private secretary to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and significantly contributed to the Pakistan Movement. Subsequently, he devoted his energies to strengthening democratic traditions and political awareness in Azad Kashmir.

Describing him as a man of unwavering honesty and integrity, the Acting President said that K.H. Khurshid would be remembered forever in the annals of Kashmir’s history. Therefore, he urged the younger generation to seriously study the life and struggle of the late leader and draw inspiration from his selfless dedication to the cause of Kashmir and democratic values.
