ACP Karachi Launches Late Poet Rashid Noor’s book “Lamha-e-Maujood”

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP), Karachi, organised a book launch ceremony for the poetry collection “Lamha-e-Maujood” by the late journalist and Poet Rashid Noor at the Josh Malihabadi library, Ahmed Shah Building.

The event was presided over by Professor Sahar Ansari, while President of Arts Council Muhammad Ahmed Shah attended as the chief guest. Other speakers included Rukhsana Saba, Salman Siddiqui, Dr Ambreen Haseeb Amber, Wasi Qureshi, and the late poet’s daughter, Mahnoor. The Event was Moderated by Shakeel Khan.

In his presidential address, Professor Sahar Ansari expressed gratitude to the Arts Council for publishing Rashid Noor’s collection, calling the occasion a blend of joy and sorrow.

He said Rashid Noor held a prominent place in Karachi’s literary identity and was known for his sincerity and dedication. “His name will always remain alive in the world of literature,” he remarked.

Chief guest Muhammad Ahmed Shah recalled that the Arts Council had announced during a condolence reference that it would publish Noor’s book, a promise now fulfilled. He termed the collection a valuable gift for Noor’s friends and readers of urdu literature.
