Accused of sexual assault gets life imprisonment

An additional sessions court awarded life imprisonment to a man after his involvement in a sexual assault case was proven during trial proceedings

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) An additional sessions court awarded life imprisonment to a man after his involvement in a sexual assault case was proven during trial proceedings.

The Additional Sessions Judge Jalalpur Pirwala announced the verdict after completion of the trial, sentencing Muhammad Aqib alias Makhna to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs200,000.

According to the prosecution, the convict committed sexual assault against a minor girl in 2025 within the jurisdiction of Police Station Sadr Jalalpur Pirwala in Basti Hafizabad, Mouza Bait Kech South.

Police had registered FIR No. 968/25 under Section 376 and initiated an investigation to trace and arrest the accused. The suspect was later apprehended, and police completed the investigation on the basis of solid evidence before submitting the challan to the court.

Upon establishment of guilt during trial proceedings, the court handed down the sentence of life imprisonment and imposed the fine accordingly.

According to the Multan Police spokesperson, effective investigation and timely prosecution ensured conviction in the case.
