Accused of harassing, torturing girl student arrested

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Garhi Shahu police on Thursday arrested an accused involved in the incident of harassing and torturing a student during an operation.

In Garhi Shahu, a man named Ali Ahmed tried to force his neighbor student at gunpoint to marry him and tortured her.

On the other hand, Punjab Women Protection Authority chairperson Hina Pervaiz Butt has said that the Punjab Women Protection Authority will work relentlessly to create a safer environment where no act of violence against women will be tolerated.

"Following the Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz's vision, we are striving hard to build a society where every woman feels protected and valued," she said in her recent statement.
