AC steps up cleanliness drive

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2026) Assistant Commissioner (AC) Saddar Dr. Zulqarnain Saleem has directed the officials of “Suthra Punjab Authority) to further strengthen monitoring of sanitation operations as maintaining clean urban and rural communities was imperative to the success of Punjab government's "Suthra Punjab" initiative.

During his visit to Union Council 140 Nethri and Akal Garh, he reviewed progress of the ongoing cleanliness campaign and inspected sanitation arrangements in various localities.

He directed the monitoring teams to maintain strict oversight of sanitation activities and ensure the regular attendance of field workers so that cleanliness standards could be consistently maintained throughout the tehsil.

He said that the administration was committed to making the entire tehsil a model of cleanliness through effective supervision, timely waste disposal and uninterrupted municipal services.

He also visited inner streets and interacted with local residents to obtain first-hand feedback on the ongoing sanitation operation and the efficiency of the door-to-door solid waste collection system.

The residents shared their views regarding municipal services, while the assistant commissioner instructed the relevant officials to address any shortcomings promptly and ensure uninterrupted sanitation services in all neighborhoods.

He reiterated that continuous monitoring, active public participation and efficient waste management were key to the success of the cleanliness campaign and directed the field teams to maintain the momentum to provide a clean, healthy and pleasant environment for the public.

Monitoring Officers for the Suthra Punjab program, Muhammad Shahzaib Aslam and Muhammad Fakhar Hayat, briefed him on the pace of sanitation operations, waste collection and field performance of the cleaning staff.
