AC seals hotels,fine shopkeepers

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Feb, 2026) Assistant Commissioner Mianwali Salman Qayyum Sheikh sealed two hotels for violating

the Ehtram-e-Ramazan Act and fined several shopkeepers for overcharging during an

inspection of Mianwali city and Wan Bhachran on Monday.

Accompanied by the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority Force, the assistant commissioner visited various commercial areas in Mianwali city where he ordered the sealing of Mianwali Pulao and Khan Fast food Restaurant for failing to comply with the sanctity of the holy month, an official spokesperson said.

During a subsequent visit to Wan Bhachran, the assistant commissioner monitored the prices of essential commodities including vegetables, fruits, and meat to ensure relief for the public.

He directed the police to arrest a vendor for overcharging and failing to display the official price list, while several butchers were slapped with heavy fines on the spot for selling meat above the prescribed rates.

The assistant commissioner stated that the administration would continue its crackdown against profiteers and those violating the Ehtram-e-Ramazan Act to ensure the provision of essential items at government-notified rates.
