AC launches emergency drain desilting operation

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2026) Assistant Commissioner (AC) Pasrur Sana Sharafat initiated an emergency drain desilting and cleaning operation on the Dhoda-Pasrur Road to ensure smooth water drainage and prevent urban flooding during the ongoing monsoon season.

According to official details released here on Monday, the operation was launched on the special directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Awais Mushtaq. Heavy machinery and operational staff from the concerned departments deployed to site to clear the choked drains effectively.

A spokesperson for the Deputy Commissioner's Office stated that the AC directed the relevant departments to complete the desilting work within the stipulated time frame. She further strictly instructed that all cleaning must be carried out according to prescribed standards so that the drainage system remains fully functional throughout the rainy season. Further, Deputy Commissioner Awais Mushtaq had ordered the immediate desilting of the drains during his visit to Pasrur two days earlier as part of the district administration's monsoon preparedness measures.
