AC inspects marts, imposes fine over violations

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) Assistant Commissioner Gujrat Abdul Qadeer Zarkoon inspected various marts in the city to review the performance of Deputy Commissioner Counters and ensure availability of essential commodities at official rates.

During the visit, he checked the availability of food items, display of price lists, and sale of subsidised goods at DC Counters.

He directed the management to strictly follow the government instructions and ensure uninterrupted supply of relief items to the public.

According to official sources, three marts were fined a total of Rs 125,000 for violating official directives. The assistant commissioner said that negligence in providing relief to citizens would not be tolerated and availability of essential items at fixed rates at DC Counters would be ensured at all costs.
