AC inspects desilting operation in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jul, 2026) Assistant Commissioner Gujrat Abdul Qadeer Zarkoon visited Gujrat Railway Station

and Link Shadiwal Road to inspect the ongoing desilting operation aimed at improving

the city's drainage system.

According to official sources, he reviewed the desilting of a 5,500-foot drain from

Sargodha Road railway crossing to Shadiwal. The operation was being carried out

on the directions of WASA Managing Director Kashan Hafeez Butt.

SDO Ameer Butt briefed the assistant commissioner on the progress of operation.

The desilting work involves removing silt and mud from the drain to improve rainwater

flow and ensure timely drainage during the monsoon season.

Assistant Director Amjad Qureshi and other WASA officials were also present during

the visit.

The assistant commissioner directed the authorities concerned to complete the desilting

work within the stipulated timeframe to help prevent urban flooding during heavy rains.
