Abid Lashari appointed as Member of Advisory Committee on Child Rights

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jul, 2026) The National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan is honoured to announce that Mr. Abid Lashari, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, President/CEO of NDF Pakistan, has been appointed as a Member of the Advisory Committee on Child Rights (ACCR) under the National Commission on the Rights of Child (NCRC), Government of Pakistan, Islamabad.

This prestigious appointment recognizes Mr. Lashari’s longstanding commitment and valuable contributions to the promotion and protection of child rights, disability inclusion, rehabilitation, inclusive education, empowerment, and equal opportunities, particularly for children with disabilities and other vulnerable groups across Pakistan.

Mr. Abid Lashari has played a significant role in advocating for the rights and dignity of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Under his leadership, NDF Pakistan has expanded rehabilitation services for children with Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, learning disabilities, and other developmental conditions in Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, and Larkana.

Expressing gratitude on his appointment, Mr. Lashari said I am deeply honoured to become a member of the Advisory Committee on Child Rights.

This responsibility provides an important opportunity to contribute to child-centred policies and strengthen the protection, participation, inclusion, and empowerment of every child in Pakistan. I remain committed to ensuring that children with disabilities are meaningfully included in all policies, programmes, and decision-making processes.”

He further emphasized that every child has the right to protection, education, healthcare, rehabilitation, participation, dignity, and equal opportunities, regardless of disability, gender, social status, or geographical location.

NDF Pakistan expressed its gratitude to the National Commission on the Rights of Child (NCRC) for recognizing Mr. Lashari’s experience and commitment. The organization reaffirmed its dedication to working collaboratively with government institutions, civil society organizations, development partners, communities, parents, and children to advance child rights and build an inclusive Pakistan.
