Abbottabad administration oversees market auction to stabilize fruit, vegetable prices

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) Following the directives of the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Afrasiab Zubair Hundal supervised the auction process and oversaw the fixation of official prices at the fruit and vegetable market in Salhad to ensure transparency and price stability.

The visit was conducted in the presence of Additional Assistant Commissioner Havellian Sameera Mehsud, District food Controller Uzma Shah, officials of the Food Department, and representatives of traders.

During the inspection, all stages of the auction were closely monitored, buyers were heard in detail, and the bidding process was reviewed to ensure fairness.

After assessing market trends and the demand and supply situation, the official price list was finalised through mutual consultation and formally approved.

The district administration said the step was part of ongoing efforts to provide relief to citizens and maintain stable prices from the wholesale market to retail level. Citizens were urged to report overcharging or price-related complaints to the district control room or the price monitoring desk established in the market.
