Abbasi pays tribute to Captain Sarwar Shaheed on 78th martyrdom anniversary

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2026) Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Monday paid glowing tribute to Pakistan's first recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider, Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed, on his 78th martyrdom anniversary, terming his unparalleled courage, bravery and sacrifice as a priceless asset to the nation's history.

In a statement, the minister said Sarwar Shaheed laid down his life in the defence of the motherland, setting an everlasting example of gallantry, selflessness and devotion to duty for future generations.

He said the martyrs of Pakistan are the true guardians of the country, adding that the entire nation would always remember their supreme sacrifices with honour, respect and pride.

Abbasi said the sacrifices of the country's martyrs form the bedrock of Pakistan's freedom, sovereignty and national security.

He said that the nation salutes every martyr who sacrificed his life for the protection of the homeland.

The minister said Sarwar Shaheed's spirit of sacrifice, unmatched bravery and unwavering loyalty to the country would continue to inspire future generations.

"We are indebted to our martyrs whose sacrifices have ensured the safety and dignity of our nation. They are our everlasting pride and national asset," he said.

Paying tribute to Sarwar Shaheed and all the martyrs of Pakistan, Abbasi said their eternal sacrifices would always remain a source of courage, strength and unity for the nation.
