Abbasi lauds security forces for foiling terrorist attack in South Waziristan

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Tuesday paid tribute to the security forces for successfully foiling an attempted attack by militants on a Pakistan army check post in South Waziristan.

In a statement issued here, the minister praised the professionalism and swift response of the security personnel, saying that the enemy’s nefarious designs had been effectively thwarted.

He said the timely action of the forces reflects their high level of preparedness and commitment to safeguarding the country.

The minister also expressed concern over injuries sustained by seven civilians during the incident and prayed for their early recovery.

He reiterated that the resolve of Pakistan’s security forces against terrorism remains unwavering, adding that peace will be maintained at all costs.

“The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its brave armed forces, and every conspiracy of the enemy will be decisively defeated,” he said.

Hanif Abbasi further emphasized that operations against militants will continue, and anti-state elements will be countered firmly on all fronts.
