78 'criminals' arrested in 24 hours

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) The police arrested 78 alleged criminals involved in various serious offences during a crackdown carried out across the district in the last 24 hours.

The police spokesman said here on Sunday that the operation targeted drug dealers, proclaimed offenders, court absconders and other elements involved in illegal arms possession.

During this drive, the police arrested 17 drug peddlers and recovered more than six kilograms of hashish, over one kilogram of heroin, more than one kilogram of ice (crystal meth) and 238 liters of liquor from their possession.

Similarly, the police apprehended six accused for possessing illegal weapons and registered separate cases against them under relevant laws.

The police also arrested 19 proclaimed offenders along with five court absconders wanted by law enforcement agencies in various cases during this period, he added.
