54kg banned polythene bags seized

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) The Environment Department continued operations to ensure implementation of environmental laws under the supervision of District Officer Environment Osama Majid.

During the drive, the team inspected 15 industrial units and brick kilns. No violations were found during the inspections.

According to EPA spokesperson, during a campaign against plastic shopping bags, 15 inspections were carried out. As a result, 54 kilograms of banned polythene bags were seized, a fine of Rs15,000 was imposed and one shop was sealed.

The administration made it clear that indiscriminate action would continue to curb environmental pollution and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
