ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jun, 2026) A total of 518 Sikh pilgrims from India departed from Gurdwara Panja Sahib for Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur on Sunday after completing religious rituals and participating in ceremonies marking the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev.
The pilgrims were seen off under the supervision of Senior Deputy Secretary Shrines Faraz Abbas amid comprehensive security arrangements. Officials from the district administration, police and other relevant departments remained present to oversee the departure and ensure smooth travel arrangements.
The visiting pilgrims expressed appreciation for the hospitality and facilities provided by the Government of Pakistan, the Evacuee Trust Property board, Chairman Qamar-uz-Zaman, Additional Secretary Shrines Nasser Mushtaq, the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, district administration and security agencies.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>They commended the arrangements for accommodation, transport, security and langar services, stating that they encountered no difficulties during their stay.
The pilgrims also lauded the uninterrupted supply of cold drinking water during the intense summer heat and praised the management of the langar hall. During their visit, they paid respects at the shrine of Baba Wali Qandhari Shrine. Describing their experience as memorable, they said the warmth, respect and facilities extended to them in Pakistan would remain cherished. Officials, including the Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Regional Police Officer, Deputy Commissioner Attock, District Police Officer Attock and Assistant Commissioners of Attock and Hassanabdal, had been regularly reviewing arrangements and security measures throughout the pilgrims’ stay.
