5 illegal brick kilns demolished in H-16 during anti-pollution operation

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) The district administration demolished five brick kilns in Sector H-16 during an operation against illegal industrial activities.

The action was taken against kilns that were not using zig-zag technology and were contributing to air pollution. Teams from the district administration, CDA, police and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) took part in the operation.

The Islamabad district administration continued its campaign against illegal brick kilns as part of efforts to address environmental violations and improve compliance with pollution control regulations.

Assistant Commissioner Pothohar led the operation in Sector H-16, where authorities identified brick kilns operating without adopting the required zig-zag technology. Officials said the technology is intended to reduce emissions and limit the environmental impact of kiln operations.

During the action, five brick kilns were demolished for failing to comply with environmental standards and for contributing to air pollution in the area.

The operation was carried out jointly by the district administration, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad Police and teams from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Officials monitored the site and oversaw the demolition process to ensure enforcement of relevant regulations.

According to the administration, inspections and enforcement measures will continue against facilities operating in violation of environmental and legal requirements. Authorities have directed kiln owners to comply with approved standards and adopt measures designed to reduce emissions.

The administration said environmental protection and public health remain key priorities, and action will continue against activities that contribute to pollution or violate government regulations.

Officials added that similar operations may be conducted in other parts of the Federal capital where brick kilns or industrial units are found operating without meeting the required environmental standards.
