ISLAMABAD:
Tremors were felt in parts of Islamabad and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Monday after a 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck the AfghanistanTajikistan border region, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). In a statement, the PMD said the earthquake occurred at 11:46am, with its epicentre located near the Afghanistan border with Tajikistan at a depth of around 170 kilometres. The impact of the tremors was felt in Islamabad as well as several districts of K-P, including Swat, Shangla and Buner. No immediate reports of damage or casualties were received. On April 3, a 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan.
