PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) Authorities in Nowshera district have intensified operations against illegally residing Afghan nationals, with more than 42,000 Afghans repatriated to Afghanistan so far, according to the district administration on Wednesday.
Officials said the crackdown was being carried out in line with directives issued by the Federal and provincial governments. As part of the operation, three Afghan settlement camps have been completely cleared.
The district administration added that identification of undocumented Afghan nationals living in villages and towns across Nowshera is ongoing to ensure implementation of the government's repatriation policy.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Authorities also warned that legal action would be taken against Pakistani citizens who rent out properties to undocumented Afghan nationals or engage in business partnerships with them.
Deputy Commissioner Nowshera in a statement said that all operations were being conducted in accordance with government policy and relevant legal provisions. He said Afghan nationals would be repatriated with necessary facilitation once the process was completed.
According to the district administration, more than 42,000 Afghan nationals have voluntarily returned to Afghanistan, adding that operations against illegal residents would continue under a zero-tolerance policy.
