4 mine workers die, 5 injured in mine collapse incident

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Four mine workers lost their lives and 5 were injured as a portion of a coal mine collapsed in Jhirk area of Thatta district, which is located near Jamshoro, on Thursday. The police informed that Swat's residents Ziaullah Khan, Noor Muhammad Khan, Irfanullah Khan and Sanghar district's Saindad Bhatti died in the incident.

 According to the police and an official of Rescue 1122, the injured Muhammad Hussain Khan, Naseebullah Khan, Malik Zada, Naimatullah Khan and Gul Hassan Khan were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital in Hyderabad. The police told that the mine was owned by Ibrahim Khan company and that it was located near the meeting railway station in Jhirk. The mine workers who gathered at the place of the incident complained before the media that they were compelled to work without any adherence to the safety rules.
