4 children die of drowning in Indus River, 2 rescued

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) Four children drowned to death while 2 were rescued while swimming in the Indus River in Thatta district near Kotri town of Jamshoro on Sunday.

The police and rescue officials informed that the incident happened in village Sabz Ali Chutto.

The eye-witnesses told the police that one of the deceased boys was carried away by the flows towards a deep part of the river.

Watching him drown the other children tried to rescue him but they themselves drowned in the river.

The deceased have been identified as 13 years old Aijaz Ali Panhwar, 11 years old Sajida Panhwar, 11 years old Kashmeeran Panhwar and 9 years old Qurban Ali Panhwar.

The local people rescued 15 years old Azra Panhwar and 12 years old Pervezan Panhwar.

The dead bodies were later shifted to the taluka hospital for medico legal formalities.
