37,500 families to get Rs.12,500 each under Ramazan package in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) As many as 37,500 deserving families in Abbottabad district will receive Rs12,500 each under the Rs13 billion Ramazan relief package, with the district administration initiating multiple measures to facilitate citizens and protect them from artificial inflation during the holy month.

On the directions of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the district administration has started relief initiatives, including digital cash assistance, price monitoring, and free iftar arrangements.

Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram has directed officials to ensure transparent and easy digital payments to all 37,500 beneficiaries in the district.

To control prices and address public complaints, the district administration has fully activated the District Control Room at the DC Office. Citizens can lodge complaints through phone and WhatsApp, while inspection teams are visiting markets to ensure implementation of official price lists.

A total of 11 price monitoring desks have been established across the district, including Abbottabad Bazaar, Band Khuh, Sabzi Mandi, Nathia Gali Bazaar, Old College Road Mandian, Supply Bazaar, Jinnahabad Link Road, Qalandarabad Bazaar, Havelian Bazaar, Sherwan Bazaar, and Lora Bazaar. Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates are conducting inspections and taking action against profiteers and violators.

The district administration is also supervising Ramadan dastarkhwans arranged by social organizations and philanthropists to provide free iftar to deserving citizens.

Officials have ensured the display of official price lists, the provision of receipts, and facilitation of digital payments in shops. Citizens have been urged to report overcharging so that immediate action can be taken.

The district administration expressed hope that these measures would provide relief to citizens, while urging traders to avoid profiteering and support the public during Ramadan.
