31 shops sealed, 26 shopkeepers arrested in Abbottabad over price list violations during Ramazan

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram, the district administration has intensified operations against profiteers to ensure implementation of the official price list during Ramazan.

According to the district administration, Price Control Magistrates conducted inspections of 612 shops and hotels across the district.

During the crackdown, 31 shops were sealed, 26 shopkeepers were arrested, and fines totaling Rs 186,000 were imposed on violators.

The administration said the actions were taken to ensure the availability of quality essential commodities to citizens at officially notified rates and to curb overcharging during the holy month.

Citizens have been urged to report complaints regarding price list violations to the District Control Room at 0992-9310553 or via WhatsApp at 0335-5851233 for prompt action.
