3,500 ICT Police deployed for Friday prayers, Youm-e-Quds rallies

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police deployed over 3,500 officers and personnel across the Federal capital to ensure security during Friday congregations and Youm-e-Quds processions.

An official told APP on Friday that comprehensive and foolproof security arrangements had been made throughout the city.

He said strict security measures had been put in place around Faisal Mosque as well as other mosques and imambargahs, while special security arrangements had also been made for Youm-e-Quds rallies.

DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq said that checking at all entry and exit points of the city had been further tightened and special checkpoints had been established.

He added that effective police patrolling was continuing across the city to maintain law and order.

The DIG reiterated that ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and property remained the top priority of Islamabad Police.
