3,000 rotten eggs mixture destroyed in Rawalpindi Crackdown

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2026) Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Rawalpindi seized and destroyed 200 litres of a liquid egg mixture prepared from approximately 3,000 rotten eggs during a crackdown on GT Road in Rawat.

According to a PFA spokesperson, the action was carried out on a tip-off when a vehicle belonging to a well-known egg supply company was intercepted at a checkpoint established on GT Road. During inspection, food safety officials recovered several blue drums containing the contaminated egg mixture.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the mixture was intended for supply to various bakeries and food outlets in Rawalpindi for use in the preparation of bakery products.

The Authority disposed of the entire consignment on the spot and imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on the company for violating food safety regulations.
