21 Pakistani clinics functional in Makkah, Madinah; 1,700 pilgrims treated as 422 medical experts join Hajj Mission

MAKKAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) The expert medical staff of the Pakistan Hajj Medical Mission (PHMM) has treated over 1,700 pilgrims and provided essential medicines across 21 clinics established in Makkah and Madinah.

To ensure world-class healthcare for the 119,000 Pakistani pilgrims arriving in the Holy Land for Hajj 2026, a 422-member medical mission is working round the clock. The Primary objective of this mission is to provide immediate 24/7 medical relief to pilgrims in close proximity to their accommodation.

Director of the Pakistan Hajj Medical Mission, Dr. Colonel Tauqeer, while speaking to the media in Makkah, stated that the mission is fully committed to providing the best possible healthcare facilities to all pilgrims under the government scheme at their doorstep. He informed that in the first phase of the medical operation, a team of 186 doctors and paramedics took charge of their responsibilities in Makkah and Madinah .

As a result, Outpatient Department (OPD) services were provided to 1,700 pilgrims within just few days.

The medical staff and clinics have been strategically distributed across both holy cities for the convenience of the pilgrims. In Makkah, a total of 18 clinics are fully operational, staffed by 70 doctors and 83 paramedics. In Madinah, a medical team of 33 personnel, including 12 doctors and 21 paramedics, is providing services across 3 clinics.

Dr. Colonel Tauqeer clarified that additional teams of the Hajj Medical Mission will arrive in Makkah and Madinah in phases, proportionate to the arrival of the pilgrims, to ensure comprehensive medical coverage for the increasing numbers.

Pakistani pilgrims staying in Makkah expressed their satisfaction with the organized arrangements and the presence of Pakistani doctors, describing it as a successful Hajj operation.
