208 suspected netted in April

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Police arrested 208 suspects and recovered narcotics and illegal weapons during a month-long crackdown across the district in April,officials said on Wednesday.

According to a press release issued by the DPO Office, the operations were conducted on the directives of District Police Officer(DPO) Sargodha, Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf, to curb crime and ensure public safety.

During the anti-narcotics drive,police arrested 76 suspects and seized four kilogram of ice,15 kilogram of hashish and 2,400 liters of liquor.

In a parallel campaign against illegal weapons,126 suspects were apprehended and a cache of arms was recovered, including four Kalashnikovs,11 rifles, 21 shotguns,88 pistols,two carbines and over 400 rounds of ammunition.

DPO Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf said the crackdown would be further intensified to eliminate crime and protect citizens’ lives and property.
