MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Mar, 2026) The Women Protection Center Multan has handled 206 cases involving violence and disputes against women during the last eight months, reflecting both the scale of the issue and the increasing trust of victims in institutional support mechanisms.

Talking to APP on Friday, Manager Women Protection Center Samara Shereen, the cases were reported between July 2025 and February 2026 and included domestic violence, harassment, property disputes and other family-related conflicts.

She said the facility functions as a comprehensive support hub where women facing difficult circumstances were provided legal guidance, psychological counseling and social assistance to help them overcome their problems.

She explained that the center initially strives to resolve disputes through reconciliation and mutual understanding between the parties so that families can avoid separation and conflicts can be settled peacefully.

However, when an amicable settlement was not possible, the cases were referred to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings.

Samara Shereen said the center provides multiple services including police facilitation, legal consultation, psychological counseling, assistance in maintenance claims, dowry recovery and khula cases.

Women who require temporary accommodation were also referred to shelter homes through a referral support system.

She added that professional counselors and experts guide affected women to help them cope with emotional stress and rebuild their lives with confidence.

She stressed that violence against women remains a serious social challenge and its solution requires joint efforts from government institutions as well as society at large.

"Creating awareness about women’s rights was essential so that victims can seek timely help and protection", he added.

Samara further said the Women Protection Center Multan was committed to providing a secure environment and ensuring access to justice for women so they can lead dignified and safe lives.

She also pointed out that in July 2025 the facility was renamed from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women Crisis Center to Women Protection Center and was now operating under the Women Protection Authority.
