2 Revenue officials dismissed over land corruption scandal in Kot Addu

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) Two officials of the Revenue Department have been dismissed from service for their alleged involvement in a mega land corruption scandal and negligence in the discharge of official duties, Deputy Commissioner Kot Addu Bilal Saleem said on Wednesday.

According to official sources, Registry Clerk Ghulam Yaseen and Reader to the Assistant Commissioner Riaz Hussain were removed from service as part of an ongoing accountability process within the Revenue Department.

Deputy Commissioner Bilal Saleem said the district administration was pursuing a policy of strict accountability and zero tolerance towards corruption and misconduct.

He said action against corrupt officials would continue without discrimination to ensure transparency and improve public service delivery.

He said officials involved in corruption and negligence were not only damaging the reputation of the department but were also acting against the interests of the public.

The deputy commissioner added that the presence of a few “black sheep” would not be allowed to tarnish the image of the Revenue Department, and strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in corruption or dereliction of duty.

He reiterated the administration’s commitment to promoting merit, transparency and accountability in government departments.
