Sources said on Friday that two drones had been intercepted in Islamabad.

Sources said that one of the drones fell near Faizabad and the other in Islamabad’s I-9 sector. They added that the drones were explosive-laden.

A spokesperson for the Pakistan Aiports Authority (PAA) said on Friday that adjustments were made to flight operations at Islamabad International Airport for a brief period due to “operational reasons”.

In a statement, PAA spokesperson Saifullah Khan said that flights at the airport were now operating as usual.

“Passengers are requested to contact the relevant airline for information about their flights,” he said.

The authority also stated the same in a post on the social media platform X.

“Flight operations at Islamabad International Airport experienced a brief operational adjustment earlier today. Operations continued normally shortly thereafter and all airport services remain fully functional,” it said.
