2 criminals arrested after police encounters

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Mar, 2026) The police have claimed to arrest two criminal record holders after encounters in the area of Jhang Bazaar and D-Type Colony police stations.

Police spokesman said here on Tuesday that ASI Iftikhar Hussain of Jhang Bazaar police station was carrying back an arrested accused Waqar Ahmad resident of Chak No.6-JB late night after recovery of case property when four bandits intercepted and opened indiscriminate firing on the police party near Fauji Chowk Tenki.

The assailants got freed the accused and fled away towards Mahiay Shah Graveyard.

Receiving information,SHO Jhang Bazaar police station Iqbal Fareed along with his team rushed to the spot and encircled the outlaws.

The police directed them for surrender but the criminals once again open blunt firing.

The police returned fire in self-defense and during this encounter, the accused Waqar Ahmad received serious injuries due to the bullets fired by his accomplices.

The police re-arrested the accused who wanted to the police in 46 cases of dacoity,robbery and etc,while his accomplices managed to escape from the scene under the cover of darkness.

Similarly,D-Type Colony police received information through Rescue 15 that three armed bandits were on their looting spree near Dera Haidar Shah and they deprived various citizens of their valuables.

Receiving information,SHO D-Type Colony police station Imtiaz Ali along with his team rushed to the spot and encircled the outlaws near Taufail Brick Kiln House ChakNo.223-RB and directed them for surrender.

The outlaws opened indiscriminate firing and tried to flee away but the police returned fire in retaliation.

During this encounter,one of the criminals received serious injuries due to the bullets fired by his accomplices and fell down on the ground whereas other two outlaws managed to escape from the scene.

The police arrested the injured accused who was later on identified as Ali Waris resident of Mona Syedan Tehsil Malikwal District Mandi Baha-ud-Din and he was wanted to the police in 11 cases of dacoity,robbery,thefts and etc.

The police shifted both injured criminals to hospital for treatment while further investigation was under progress for arrest of the escapees, police spokesman added.
