2 Chilas children airlifted to Lahore for treatment on CM’s instructions: Azma Bokhari

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th May, 2026) Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has said that, on the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, two young patients from Chilas were airlifted to Lahore through an air ambulance in a humanitarian initiative aimed at ensuring timely medical treatment.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Azma Bokhari said that 12-year-old Sanaullah and 14-year-old Ataullah, sons of Sabir Hussain and residents of Satniyan area of Chilas, were suffering from a hereditary kidney disease.

She said that following the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, two Rescue 1122 vehicles were dispatched to Chilas to safely transfer the children for treatment.

The provincial minister stated that both patients were shifted to Lahore under complete medical supervision and admitted to the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI), where a specialized team of doctors was providing them with dedicated treatment and care.

Azma Bokhari said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision was to serve the public without discrimination, adding that the timely air ambulance transfer of the children from Chilas reflected her commitment to humanitarian service.

She further said that Maryam Nawaz Sharif placed humanitarian service above politics and was ensuring all possible measures to support and facilitate people in need across the province and beyond.
