ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) More than 2,400 modern drinking water points have been installed across the holy sites as part of a smart hydration system aimed at improving comfort, sustainability and safety for pilgrims during the Hajj 1447 AH season.

According to SPA, the project provides continuous access to chilled and purified drinking water through strategically placed hydration stations distributed along pedestrian walkways in the holy sites.

The system has been implemented by Kidana Development Company, the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites (RCMC).

The report said the project transformed traditional water distribution points into integrated smart hydration stations designed according to modern engineering and health safety standards.

Authorities said the strategic placement of water points also supports smoother pedestrian movement and helps reduce crowding in densely populated areas during the Hajj season.

The smart water system additionally contributes to reducing heat stress among pilgrims and improving movement between the holy sites, helping create a safer and more comfortable environment.

Kidana said the project reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen sustainable service infrastructure and improve operational efficiency through advanced technological solutions that ensure uninterrupted water flow and high water quality.
