2,000 cops deployed for Ramadan security in Faisalabad region

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Akhtar Sukhera has deployed more than 2,000 police officers and personnel across the region to ensure foolproof security at mosques, imambargahs, Ramadan bazaars and other key locations during Ramadan-ul-Mubarak.

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Akhtar Sukhera has deployed more than 2,000 police officers and personnel across the region to ensure foolproof security at mosques, imambargahs, Ramadan bazaars and other key locations during Ramadan-ul-Mubarak.

According to police spokesman Rizwan Bhatti, the security arrangements have been finalized on the directives of RPO to maintain peace and order during the holy month.

Under this plan, special security was provided to 1,331 mosques, 101 imambargahs, 109 Ramadan dastarkhawans and six Ramadan Sahulat Bazaars across the region, he added.

He said that total 1,487 police officers and officials would perform duty at mosques while 191 personnel were be deployed at imambargahs. Similarly, 45 officers and officials were stationed at six Ramadan Sahulat Bazaars and 272 personnel were assigned to 109 Ramadan dastarkhawans to ensure smooth arrangements and public safety, he added.

He said that a comprehensive traffic management plan was also issued to maintain smooth flow of traffic during peak hours of Sehri, Iftar and Taraweeh.

Security personnel have been deployed at major markets, shopping centers and commercial hubs in view of increased public activity during Ramadan, he added.

He said that district police heads across the region have been directed to implement exemplary security measures. Special control rooms have been established to monitor the law & order situation while mosques, worship places, markets and sensitive locations would be monitored through Safe City cameras, he added.

He said that the security plan ensured police presence during Sehri, Iftar and Taraweeh.

The deployment of Dolphin Squad teams and traffic wardens at key intersections has also been made mandatory.

In view of increased shopping activity and the risk of street crime, the police have identified hotspot areas and enhanced patrolling to prevent untoward incidents during the holy month, he added.
