18 of family injured as lightning strikes house in Landi Kotal

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) At least 18 people including women and children were injured after lightning struck a house in Bazaar Zakhakhel

area of Landi Kotal on Wednesday.

According to rescue and local sources, panic spread through the area immediately after the incident.

Residents

rushed to the scene and carried out rescue efforts shifting the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Rescue officials said the injured included men, women and children. All victims received immediate medical

assistance and were later discharged from the hospital after initial treatment.

Following the incident, the Station House Officer (SHO) accompanied by police personnel, visited the affected

house and inquired after the well-being of the injured family members.
