18 deaf cricket teams to join June 15-20 national championship in Lahore

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) Muzaffargarh Deaf Cricket Team has departed for Lahore to participate in the 10th National

Deaf Cricket Championship 2026, scheduled June 15 to 20, where eighteen teams from

across Pakistan would demonstrate their skills, proficiency and determination.

President of the District Deaf Cricket Association Muzaffargarh, Salman Nabi, said that

the team was fully prepared to represent the district in the prestigious national event.

The squad will be led by captain Muhammad Qamar Naveed, while Usman Ghani will

serve as the team's coach.

The Muzaffargarh team comprises Muhammad Qamar Naveed (Captain), Tayyab Abbas,

Naeem Baig, Rameez-ul-Hassan, Ghulam Muhammad, Muzammil, Muhammad Siraj,

Muhammad Amin, Abdul Aleem, Ameer Hamza, Waqas Waheed, Qamar Zubair,

Muhammad Burhan Sheikh and Sanaullah.

The championship will feature participation from 18 deaf cricket teams from across Pakistan,

including Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Attock, Kohat, Peshawar,

Mardan, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Okara, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh, Rahim

Yar Khan and Ghotki.

Salman Nabi said, the players had worked hard to prepare for the tournament and hoped

the team would deliver an outstanding performance and bring laurels to Muzaffargarh.

The National Deaf Cricket Championship serves as an important platform for promoting

sports among differently-abled athletes and providing them with opportunities to showcase

their talent at the national level.
